Dear Sugar

If you are struggling with sugar addiction I am with you., walking alongside you thinking shall I or shan’t I at this or that?.Ancestral primal eating does away with carbohydrates especially all types of sugar such as honey, agave coconut sugar.

The journey to becoming a primal eater has been a big one. It’s changed my inflammatory profile which I feel as less pain in my joints, less gas and bloating but more importantly a clearer and sharper happier mind. Along with good rest, nature connection and loving relationships is my key to conscious aging.

Sometimes life requires something different from us instead of eating. In the past I have eaten instead of feeling my emotions; bypassing my heart and going straight to the mouth. You’d think I’b be ginourmous but I struggle to maintain 50kg. Which is all part of this poem.

Dear Sugar

You fill the silences and keep me company
When others check out,
Glaze over, go elsewhere.
You are here for me like a good book, a warm hand..

You sweetened my life before I knew life.
Gave me the spark of recognition,
When my thirst wasn’t quenched by mothers milk.
It’s woven into my DNA to need you.

Primal brain wired for the sensual, slide into sweet oblivion.
Hello brain, I am. the warm hand, the soft heart.
Help me to feel safe and seen.
Sugar, she knows damn well how to fill. those lonely places

Dear Sugar, I’ll need you one of these days
But for now
without you,
I will feel all those sticky places
as good
             as necessary
                                  parts of me             to love.
Dear sugar no bad places.
