NeverNever Land

What if in 2021, we gave ourselves permission to do, be, think and feel what we never have before.? To author a new story is the beginning of our becoming; we integrate all that has come before, align with our present and evolve into the future.

Last year, Caroline Myss, renowned author and medical intuitive, spoke about our present pandemic world as NeverNever Land in Reverse as a way of understanding these epic, unprecedented times. We saw and are seeing things that have never happened before in our lifetime.

The world I wake up to every morning has this same surreal quality to it. Of living in a faraway Peter Panesque place filled with pirates (politicians and policy makers), faeries and mermaids (my daughters and friends) and everyday people like me.

Give me something Lord, that I have never felt, experienced or thought before. I will wait and I will listen.

It could start with sending out a prayer, asking spirit for guidance, meditating, or setting an intention, as a way to elevate out of addictive patterns of behaviors, the tendency to nostalgia, rumination, or awfulising. We could instead live this time like we have never lived before.

We the successors of a country and a time

can dream of becoming president
only to find herself reciting for one

What would that look like for you? For me, I want to listen to and act on my inner voice. So that every time my intuition arises I want to say, “YES!”. To be led by my higher self into the daily practice of reclaiming the feminine and healing the division between the masculine and feminine.

Imagine, the biggest NeverNever. Unity instead of polarity. A world where despite our differing points of view we could meet the other in openness and curiosity. The Arabic phrase I remember from my time in the Middle East comes to mind…’kayf hallik?’  which literally means ‘how is the state of your human heart?’ Imagine if we walked around checking in deeply with each other, instead of commenting on the weather.

In this new NeverNever Land we could “live our ecstasy” and fall in love with something – our bodies, nature, growing vegetables, our partners, families, our neighbourhood. We could find beauty in the everyday things we often overlook and in the not beautiful: strangers, people with opposing views, repair of ours and others damaged and broken hearts.

What are your NeverNevers? Here is a primer for the times…

If I could access all the power that there is for me coming through the web of life, the one thing I would do for myself and my world is….
